Present Continuous:

What is Present Continuous? Present Continuous is one of the 12 kinds of tenses.

There are 12 kinds of tenses:


1= Present Indefinite.

2= Past Indefinite.

3= Future Indefinite.

4= Present Continuous.

5= Past Continuous.

6= Future Continuous.

7=  Present Perfect.

8= Past Perfect.

9= Future Perfect.

10= Present Perfect Continuous.

11= Past Perfect Continuous.

12= Future Perfect Continuous.


Use of Present Continuous: 

We use Present Continuous. When any Action is Continue in present. When we doing something and that action is continue so we use Present Continuous.


Structure:


Every tense or every structure has Structure because Structure is very important for making a sentence with the help of Structure you can make a correct sentence. In this Structure the first one is (SUBJECT) (Subject the action performer the person or people who performs the action) And The second one is (VERB) (Verb is an Action that work which shows Action). And the 3rd one is (OBJECT) (Object is that the one that is being worked on).


Subject + Is/Am/Are + Verb ((ing) Form) + Object.               (Positive)

Subject + Is/Am/Are + not + Verb ((ing) form) + Object.     (Negative)

Is/Am/Are + Subject + Verb ((ing) Form) + Object?         (Interrogative)


 Is/Am/Are

Is/Am/Are is the helping verbs of present continuous It will be helpful for you to make positive, Negative and Interrogative sentences. Now the question is that where we use (Is) where(Am) and where(Are).

Is: Is we use when we talk about 3rd person singular. (3rd person is the one that is being talked about) When 2 persons talk about somebody else so that person is 3rd person.LIKE: He, She, It, or any name.


Am: Am we use. When we talk about first person (1st person is the one who is speaking).LIKE: (I) because only I can be the first person.


Are: Are we use when we talk about 3rd person plural or  (2nd person is the one with whom we are talking) when two persons talk about more than one person so that is 3rd person plural.LIKE: (They).


Is = He, She, It

Am = I

Are = We, You, They.



Important Note About Verb (ing form):

You can see in structure that After is/am/are we put verb's ing form. Every continues Tense we put verb's ing form. What is Verb's ing form. there are 3 form of verb 1st form, 2nd form, 3rd form. But in any continus tanse we have to modifie 1st form of verb with ing for making any continuous sentence .LIKE; 

1= Run, Running  

2= Talk, Talking

3= say, saying

4= look, looking

5= give, giving


Example:


1= I am speaking.                                                   (We use positive sentence to talk about simple)

     I am not speaking.                                             (We use negative when we denying something)

    Am i speaking?                                                 (We use interrogative for asking about something)


2= She is looking him.                                            (We use positive sentence to talk about simple)

    She is not looking him.                                       (We use negative when we denying something)

    Is she looking him?                                         (We use interrogative for asking about something)


3= You are reading.                                                  (We use positive sentence to talk about simple)

     You are not reading.                                            (We use negative when we denying something)

     Are you reading?                                             (We use interrogative for asking about something)


4= He is watching T.V.                                             (We use positive sentence to talk about simple)

     He is not watching T.V.                                      (We use negative when we denying something)

     Is he watching T.V?                                      (We use interrogative for asking about something)


5= I am singing song.                                              (We use positive sentence to talk about simple)

     I am singing song.                                               (We use negative when we denying something)

    Am I singing song?                                          (We use interrogative for asking about something)
