Past Perfect: 

What is Past Perfect? Past Perfect is one of the 12 kinds of tenses.



There are 12 kinds of tenses:


1= Present Indefinite.

2= Past Indefinite.

3= Future Indefinite.

4= Present Continuous.

5= Past Continuous.

6= Future Continuous.

7=  Present Perfect.

8= Past Perfect.

9= Future Perfect.

10= Present Perfect Continuous.

11= Past Perfect Continuous.

12= Future Perfect Continuous.



Use of Past Perfect: 

We use Past Perfect to tell about that action Which had done before another action. When any action was done before another action.

Structure:


Every tense or every structure has Structure because Structure is very important for making a sentence with the help of Structure you can make a correct sentence. In this Structure the first one is (SUBJECT) (Subject the action performer the person or people who performs the action) And The second one is (VERB) (Verb is an Action that work which shows Action). And the 3rd one is (OBJECT) (Object is that the one that is being worked on).


Subject + Had + Verb ((3rd Form) + Object.               (Positive)

Subject + Had + not + Verb ((3rd form) + Object.     (Negative)

Had + Subject + Verb ((3rd Form) + Object?         (Interrogative)


Had:

Had is the helping verbs of Past Perfect. It will be helpful for you to make positive, Negative and Interrogative sentences. When you will say any sentence and you will add Had and Verb's 3rd form on that sentence so it will show that you are talking about that action which had done before another action. 

Important Note About (3rd form):

You can see in structure that After Had we put verb's 3rd form. Every Perfect Tense we put verb's 3rd form. What is Verb's 3rd form. there are 3 form of verb 1st form, 2nd form, 3rd form. But in any perfect tense we have to put verb's 3rd form.LIKE; 

1= Run                       2= Ran                       3= Run

1= Talk                       2= Talked                 3= Talked

1= Said                       2= Said                      3= Said

1= Look                      2= Looked                3= Looked

1= Give                       2= Gave                     3= Given  

  


Example:


1= When you told him. I had told him.                             

     When you told him. I had not told him.        

      When you told him. Had I told him?                


2= When he hide himself. She had seen him.

      When he hide himself. She had not seen him.

      When he hide himself. Had she seen him?             


3= When I asked. You had said once.                  

      When I asked. You had not said once.           

      When I asked. Had you said once?      


4=When you reached station. Train had gone                 

     When you reached station. Train had not gone.          

     When you reached station. Had train gone?   


5= When I went to office. Mam had gone.            

      When I went to office.Mam had not gone.    

      When I went to office.Had Mam gone?
